UK Youth’s ‘Adventures Away from Home’ Fund in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), provides access to outdoor learning for young people facing significant barriers. The programme supports those from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.
The purpose is to help young people build life and socio-emotional skills by providing safe shared spaces and thoughtfully designed programmes.
Free for young people aged 11-18yrs (or up to 25 for SEND).
– living in poverty, experiencing financial barriers, low academic achievement
– SEND, physical disabilities, requires support, English Additional Language
– minoritised ethnic groups, young women & girls, LGBTQI+, refugees
– in the secure state, experienced care, with caring responsibilities
Activity Day, 4.5 hours (incls. half hour lunch)
– Lunch provided
– Watersports day (katakanu/canoe)
– Landsports day (archery/bushcraft)
– or Water/Landsports day
